Ceramic Rings

You maybe wondering what exactly is a ceramic ring? Ceramic wedding rings are NOT made out of clay like what you would use in a pottery class. Ceramic wedding rings are relatively new on the market thanks to new technologies. Ceramic wedding rings are made from exotic alternative materials like zirconium and yittra, along with specialized bonding agents. This makes for one strong ceramic material that will last forever and stay polished forever. Ceramic will not fade, scratch or craze.

Ceramic can also be compared to tungsten carbide because of the extreme hardness. However, Ceramic is much lighter than tungsten carbide but can scratch easier.

    Tungsten Carbide Rings

Tungsten is a very hard metal. So hard it ranks second on the Mohs Scale with Diamond being first. Northern Royal tungsten rings are virtually scratch proof and hypoallergenic. Hypoallergenic means it prevents decaying, breakage, and allergic reactions. Tungsten rings are much heavier in weight when compared to titanium rings and ceramic rings. Most people choose tungsten rings because they do not scratch and are extremely durable.

 Titanium Rings

Northern Royal titanium rings are made out of the highest quality titanium. Northern royal offers titanium rings with emeralds, classic style titanium rings, and the most popular style are the all black titanium rings. Northern Royal only uses the highest quality titanium available.

Titanium rings can scratch when compared to tungsten rings. However, titanium scratches can also be polished off. Titanium rings do not scratch nearly as easy as stainless steel rings. Titanium rings are about 68% lighter in weight when compared to tungsten rings. It is a huge noticeable difference. Northern Royal can guarantee that are titanium rings will never loose their color.

Abalone

Northern Royal uses Abalone and NOT Mother of Pearl. So you maybe wondering what is the difference between abalone and mother of pearl…. First, abalone is also sometimes referred to as mother of pearl but really both mother of pearl and abalone are completely different. Mother of pearl is much more abundant when compared to abalone. Mother of pearl can be found just about anywhere such as freshwater or harvest farms. Abalone is much more scarce and abalone harvest farms are even rare to come by. Abalone has more of a darker rainbow shade to it, were mother of pearl has more of a milky shades.
