Ceramic rings are relatively new, causing many people to wonder what exactly a ceramic ring is. Ceramic rings are not made out of clay like you would use in a pottery class. Rather, they are made from exotic alternative metals such as zirconium along with specialized bonding agents. 

Durability

Ceramic rings are very durable, do not scratch easily, and are a very hard material. If they are dropped from a high surface, they would be more likely to shatter than a tungsten or titanium ring. 

Weight

Ceramic rings are much lighter than tungsten carbide rings, but a bit heavier than titanium rings. This makes them a great in-between choice if tungsten feels too heavy, but titanium feels too light.
